Reflections: Stolen History. By Kwiringira B Ruhamya Fred Analyst, Apostle, Patriot What is Uganda's Problem? Since our great nation's independence in 1962, six decades later, we have failed to come to the prophecy of Winston Churchill, the greatest Prime Minister of Great Britain, our former colonizers. Winston Churchill was mesmerized by the beauty, potential, riches, and serenity of our kingdoms, nations that later became Uganda. Winston captured the awesome land in poetic language, concluding, "This is Pearl of Africa." This was in 1908. A century later, we are still walking in dust, and we cannot touch the sky. What happened? Who is responsible? Is it the colonialists, political parties, kingdoms, kings, tribes, nationalities, land, bad politics? It is a myriad of factors but mainly bad politics and bad politicians or empty leaders. Our history has been stolen. Most of our minerals are gone for a century. Reflections: Degeneration in Education, A Plea to My Kaburasazi Hills P.1 Teacher, Mrs. Donata Mpamira Bakame. By Kwiringira B Ruhamya Fred Analyst, Apostle, Patriot Dear Madam Donata, Teacher, Greetings. Muraho. Shalom. Fond memories. The last time we spoke was during the Kisoro women by-election, when I was active in media campaigns. You seemed ecstatic that your former pupil in Kaburasazi Hills was making good submissions on the radio in the campaign of formidable Dr. Baryomunsi Chris, candidate, amiable Ms. Kabagyeni Rose. To my Headmaster at St. Leo's College Kyegobe, Mzee Basaliza Henry: Who i...

OPINION: KISORO NRM PRIMARIES AND THE WIND OF CHANGE AHEAD OF THE 2026 GENERAL ELECTIONS The recently concluded NRM primaries in Kisoro District have sent a clear message change is inevitable. Across the district, long-serving leaders were shown the exit door, signaling a growing dissatisfaction among voters with the old guard. However, the exercise was not without its challenges, particularly in Bufumbira South, where violence disrupted voting in seven villages, delaying the announcement of results in the tight race between incumbent Hon. Alex Niyonsaba (Seruganda) and his rival, Sam Bitangaro. Religion, Money, and the Mateke Factor in Bufumbira South The Bufumbira South race was marred by chaos, largely fueled by religious divisions and the influence of the Mateke’s politics. The Church of Uganda in Seseme openly backed Bitangaro, while Catholics, Muslims and Pentecostals rallied behind Niyonsaba. The violence in Chahi Sub-county’s Iryaruhuri Trading Centre was reportedly ins...
